Los Gigantes combine to throw no-hitter against Sea Dogs

Yulkin German (right) and George Ziegler (left) combine to throw a no-no. Josue Feliciano (middle) goes 2-for-3 with a HR.

The Los Gigantes combined to throw a no-hitter in a 9-0 victory over the Saugus Sea Dogs on Monday night in the Masters 38+ division — marking the second no-hitter of the 2022 BMBL season.

Yulkin German started the game, recording the first 9 outs while striking out five and walking none. He got the hook after three innings, as the Gigantes looked to preserve the southpaw's pitch count on a cold night in just their fourth game of the season.

George Ziegler took over for German in the 4th, tossing 4 innings of relief while striking out five and walking one. Ziegler would earn the win and improve to 3-0 on the season.

The pitching duo carried a perfect game into the 6th, but an error and a walk in the inning would break up the perfect-game bid.

Offensively, the Gigantes put up 9 runs on 11 hits, scoring in every inning except the 2nd. Nine different players recorded a hit in the win, including a home run from Josue Feliciano in the leadoff spot. The Gigantes moved to 4-0 and remain undefeated on the season.

Last weekend, Justin Sylvia (5 IP, 0 H, 9 K's, 6 BB) of the Middleboro Mocka Rays in the 18+ division, recorded the first no-hitter of the 2022 season, blanking the Greater Boston Bandits 12-0 in a 5-inning shortened game due to the mercy rule.
