Spinners earn franchise's first MABL championship

2015 MABL 18+ Champions - Cambridge Spinners

Two years after losing the 2013 MABL Championship to the Ben's Dream White Sox, the Cambridge Spinners have redeemed themselves, this time defeating the White Sox three games to one in the best-of-five Championship Series, taking home the 2015 MABL Championship and the franchise's first MABL title since joining the league back in 2009.

The Spinners were backed by solid pitching performances from Luc Kocher and Dan Blum, as the duo held the White Sox to a combined three runs in Games 1 and 2, giving their team an early 2-0 lead in the series.

On the heels of elimination, the White Sox kept their hopes alive in Game 3, thanks to a strong pitching performance of their own. The White Sox held the red hot Spinners to just one run on five hits, while the offense was able to take advantage of several defensive miscues, winning Game 3 by a final score of 6-1.

In Game 4, the momentum shifted back to the Spinners, as the offense broke out to an early 5-0 lead and later added some insurance runs in the 4th, 5th, and 6th inning to help seal the 13-5 victory. Marty Clarke earned the win, going five innings while striking out three. Dan Blum pitched the last two innings in relief to close out the game and help clinch the franchise's first MABL championship.

Congratulations to the Cambridge Spinners on winning the 2015 MABL 18+ Championship and the franchise's first MABL title, and hats off to the runner-up White Sox on a great season and their fourth consecutive MABL Finals' appearance.
