For the final time this season, it's time to announce the "Players of the Month" for the month of August, the last full month of the regular season.

Often referred to as the "dog days" of summer, August is a time when the Boston Metro Baseball League truly comes alive. With pennant races heating up and playoff spots hanging in the balance, players are pushed to their limits, striving for greatness in pursuit of one goal — a championship title.

So, as the sunsets grow earlier and the leaves begin to hint at the approaching autumn, it's only fitting that we pause to honor those individuals who shone the brightest under the summer's fading light.
