Hudson Mets win 2015 MetroWest championship

2015 MSBL MetroWest Champs - Hudson Mets!

In the inaugural season of the BMBL MetroWest Division, the No. 1-seeded Sudbury Royals (15-1) and No. 2-seeded Hudson Mets (13-3) faced off in the best-of-three Championship Series, where it would take all three games to decide who will be crowned the first-ever MSBL MetroWest champion.

After splitting Games 1 and 2 of the 2015 MetroWest Finals, the championship came down to an all-or-nothing Game 3 between the top two seeded teams. With the game tied 2-2 heading into the 9th and final frame, the Mets broke out for three runs and took a 5-2 lead.

Down to their last three outs, the Royals had one last chance for rebuttal, but the 2015 Cy Young runner-up Al Robillard would keep the Royals offense at bay and close out the bottom of the 9th unscathed, securing the 5-2 victory and the Mets first MSBL MetroWest championship.

Robillard finished the postseason with a perfect 4-0 record and 1.11 ERA, to go along with 32 K's. Offensively, the Mets batted an impressive .395 as a team, led by Bear Dunn who went 13-for-22 (.565) with 5 doubles, 8 RBIs and 9 runs scored.

Congratulations to the Hudson Mets on winning the first-ever MSBL MetroWest Championship, and hats off to the Sudbury Royals on a fantastic season.
