2025 BMBL Hall of Fame Class — Teddy Dziuba, Steve Busby, Mike Maguire, Mike Kalfopoulos, Sam Steed

The Boston Metro Baseball League is proud to announce and congratulate the newest members of the Hall of Fame, representing the Class of 2025.

This year's inductees include Teddy Dziuba, Steve Busby, Mike Maguire, Mike Kalfopoulos, and Sam Steed, each of whom has made a lasting impact on the league through their performance, leadership, and dedication to the game.

Teddy Dziuba (2013-present)

Since joining the BMBL in 2013, Teddy Dziuba has cemented his legacy as one of the league's most accomplished players. A former 33rd-round draft pick of the New York Mets in the 2006 MLB Draft, Dziuba became a cornerstone of the Boston Bombers franchise, capturing four 28+ Division championships before adding another milestone to his storied career in 2025 — winning his first 38+ title in just his third season with The Bulls.

The 2025 season also saw Dziuba make league history by becoming the first player ever to earn MVP honors in two different age divisions in the same season. With four MVP awards to his name, he now holds the record for the most in BMBL history.

Steve "Buzz" Busby (2008-2024)

Steve Busby, affectionately known as "Buzz", began his BMBL career in 2008 and officially hung up his cleats in 2024 after an outstanding 16-year run. A feared hitter and respected teammate, Buzz captured seven championships, one in the 28+ Division and six in the 38+ Division.

In 2015, Buzz took home the 38+ MVP award and earned the 38+ batting title in 2020, hitting an incredible .625 on the season. He finished his BMBL career with a stellar .393 batting average, leaving behind a legacy of consistency, competitiveness, and class both on and off the field.

Mike "Mags" Maguire (2013-present)

Mike Maguire, known around the league as "Mags", joined the Boston Bombers in 2013 and quickly became one of the most dynamic two-way threats in the BMBL.

A six-time champion (four in the 28+ Division with the Bombers and two in the 38+ Division with The Bulls), Mags capped off his impressive resume with another 38+ title in 2025.

A 2023 28+ MVP and career .358 hitter, Mags pairs his consistent offensive production with exceptional defensive prowess. His highlight-reel catches and flawless range in center field have become the stuff of BMBL legend, earning him recognition as one of the finest defensive players in the BMBL.

Mike "Kal" Kalfopoulos (2002, 2007-present)

Mike Kalfopoulos, better known as "Kal", has been a cornerstone of the Somerville Senators franchise since joining the team in 2007 at the age of 44. The longest-tenured member of the franchise, Kal has represented the Senators for 17 consecutive seasons and also the 38+ Metro Red Sox for the last 11 seasons.

Known for his remarkable plate discipline, he's considered one of the toughest outs in any lineup, striking out just 79 times over 1,288 career at-bats. In 2018, at age 55, he earned the 28+ Batting Title with a scorching .511 average, further solidifying his legacy as one of the most consistent and skilled hitters in BMBL history.

A three-time champion, Kal owns two 38+ Division titles and captured his first 28+ championship in 2025, bringing his storied career full circle.

Sam Steed (2007-present)

When it comes to BMBL pitching legends, Sam Steed's name stands tall. Joining the league in 2007, Steed won two 28+ Division championships before moving up to the 38+ Division in 2014, where he became the longtime ace of the 10-time champion Metro Red Sox.

Over 12 seasons with the Red Sox, Steed helped lead the club to four of those championships while becoming the all-time career leader in 38+ wins (47), games pitched (98), innings pitched (429.2), and strikeouts (464).

Across his full BMBL career, Steed boasts a 69-35 record, including 6 saves, with a 2.18 ERA and an astonishing 720 strikeouts. His dominance on the mound and his commitment to the league were recognized in 2020 with his induction into the National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.

The 2025 Hall of Fame class stands as a tribute to the exceptional talent, dedication, and passion for the game that define the Boston Metro Baseball League.
