BMBL 2024 Hall of Fame Class Announced

The Boston Metro Baseball League proudly welcomes an exceptional class to its Hall of Fame for 2024, honoring four players who have left and continue to leave an indelible mark on amateur baseball in Boston.
These inductees are more than just statistics — they are leaders, competitors, and champions, each with their own unique path through BMBL history. Let's take a look at the remarkable careers of Mark Moise, Jose Toledano, Johnny Hayes, and Chris Deane.
Mark Moise (2002-present)
Mark Moise's BMBL journey began in 2002, and over the past two decades he has established himself as one of the league's most decorated players. Boasting a career .325 batting average, Moise ("Mouse") currently holds the 38+ Division all-time record in Runs Scored (167) and shares the lead for most Hits (239). He also currently ranks second in 38+ Games Played (220), At-Bats (604), and Stolen Bases (84).
Moise's championship resume is nothing short of legendary, featuring eleven league titles — one in the 28+ Division and ten in the 38+ Division. Beyond the BMBL, Moise has claimed four Cape Cod Classic championships, six MSBL World Series titles, and an incredible twenty-two MSBL regional tournament championships.
Jose Toledano (2006-present)
Since joining the BMBL in 2006, Jose Toledano has become one of the league's most feared hitters. A career .422 hitter, Toledano currently ranks second all-time in 28+ RBIs (302), third in Hits (445), and third in Runs (264).
Toledano is no stranger to the spotlight in October, with six championships under his belt — four in the 28+ Division and two in the 38+ Division. Among these titles was the 2012 season with JM Force, the only team in BMBL history to go undefeated in both the regular season and postseason.
Johnny Hayes (2008-present)
Johnny Hayes, a league mainstay since 2008, has made his mark both as a player and a manager, bringing a unique blend of skill and leadership to the league. In his playing career, Hayes has earned four championships — two in the 28+ Division and two in the 38+ Division.
Hayes has also distinguished himself as a two-time Manager of the Year, with one award in each of the 28+ and 38+ Divisions. With a career .364 batting average, Hayes has proven himself as an invaluable player on the field and a respected leader in the dugout.
Chris Deane (2007-present)
Chris Deane is one of the most decorated players in BMBL history, and his induction is a testament to his extraordinary career. Since joining the league in 2007, Deane is currently the BMBL all-time hit leader and one of only two Hall of Famers to compete in all four BMBL divisions.
Deane has an astounding fourteen championships to his name, including two in the 18+ Division, five in the 28+ Division, four in the MetroWest Division, and three in the 38+ Division. He is the only player to win a title in each of the four BMBL divisions. His achievements extend beyond the league, as he was also inducted into the Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024.
The 2024 Hall of Fame class is a testament to the talent, dedication, and love of the game that defines the Boston Metro Baseball League. Congratulations to Mark Moise, Jose Toledano, Johnny Hayes, and Chris Deane on this well-deserved recognition of their extraordinary careers.
