2001 MABL N.I.T. TOURNAMENT

A note from Brian Fodera, tournament organizer: It is my distinct pleasure to announce to you the inaugural Boston MABL NIT. This eight-team, double-elimination tournament began Monday, August 27, 2001 and features 5 teams from the MABL and 3 clubs from the MABL Saturday League. Winner will be declared Intercontinental Champion of the MABL and receive the Tito Santana Trophy. This an official MABL-sponsored and approved event. Teams were invited to participate and chosen based on their interest, availability and completion of league requirements for regular-season play. All eligible and interested teams are included in the actual bracket. The tournament was originally conceived as an 8-team tournament that would include all 6 MABL teams that failed to make the playoffs and the 2 Saturday League non-finalists. When one of the MABL teams was unable to participate, a third Saturday League team was invited.
