| THE BOSTON MEN'S BASEBALL LEAGUE
The Boston Men's Baseball League is the local chapter
of the national Men's
Senior Baseball League (MSBL, founded in 1988) and
Men's Adult Baseball
League (MABL, founded in 1993). In 2009, the league
had 48 teams across three age divisions to satisfy the needs of
amateur players of all ages.

Men's Adult Baseball League (MABL) - Ages 18 and over.
Approximately 14 teams compete in a 24-game schedule, plus playoffs.
Games are typically played either Saturday or Sunday, plus 5-8
weeknight games per season. Teams play primarily in Boston, but
players reside all over eastern Massachusetts, some as far north
as New Hampshire, as far south as Rhode Island and as far west
as Worcester. The regular season usually begins the last weekend
of April and playoffs end in late-September. Wood bats only are
permitted.
Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL 30+) Ages 30 and
over.
Approximately 30 teams across multiple tiers play a 24-game schedule.
The regular season usually begins the last weekend of April and
playoffs run until late-September. Teams play on both Suburban
and Boston fields, while players reside all over the eastern Massachusettso
area. Wood bats only are permitted. Teams historically have included:
- Boston, Braintree, Brockton, Cambridge,
Lexington, Malden, Natick, North Andover, Scituate,
Somerville, Waltham, Wayland, Winchester, Dorchester,
Lynn, Medford, Milton, Newton, North Shore, Quincy, Roxbury,
Watertown and Wellesley, among others.
Master's Division Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL 40+)
- Ages 40 and over (2 38+ Players per team permitted)
8-10 teams play an approximate 14 game schedule, usually one weeknight
a week. The regular season usually begins early-May with playoffs
running until the end of September. Teams have been based out of Acton, Billerica,
Boston, Braintree, Brockton, Duxbury, Quincy, and Wellesley
-- but the players reside all over.

BASEBALL LEAGUE (MSBL)
The Men's Senior
Baseball League (MSBL)/Men's Adult Baseball League (MABL)
is a national organization with 325 local affiliates, 3,200 teams
and more than 45,000 members who play organized amateur baseball
in local leagues, 30 regional tournaments and six national tournaments.
The MSBL/MABL World Series and Fall Classic take place every October/November
in Arizona and Florida, respectively, playing on almost exclusively
MLB Spring Training fields. There are two tournaments held over
Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in January, the MSBL/MABL Holiday
Classic at Disney which is held at the Atlanta Braves spring training
facility in Orlando, and a new addition is the Desert Classic
which takes place in Palm Springs, CA. The Las Vegas Kickoff Classic,
held in ealry-mid March, has become one of our most highly attended
tournaments with 104 teams in 2005. Aside from the many regional
tournaments held over Memorial Day, the Las Vegas Open is another
national tournament which attracts 60 teams each year. Our national
tournaments hosted a total of 650 teams in 2004 making them the
largest amateur baseball tournaments in the world.
The MSBL/MABL is the largest adult baseball organization
in the country. Started in 1986 with 60 members, the MSBL/MABL
is now 45,000 players strong. Among the members are doctors, lawyers,
local businessmen, former professional athletes, and average working
men. All are united by a common passion for playing and enjoying
baseball.
MSBL/MABL members are serious athletes of various skill
levels. They exhibit a special commitment in their chosen sports,
in their professions, and as contributors to the well-being of
their communities. Nationwide, there are divisions for those aged
18+, 25+, 35+, 45+, 55+, and 65+.
The MSBL/MABL has been featured in over 600 local radio, T.V.
and newspaper accounts and has reached national prominence with
major articles in Sports Illustrated, Sport, Baseball America,
USA Today, Sporting News and the US News and World Report. In
addition, MSBL/MABL has been in the spotlight on broadcasts of
the Today Show and Good Morning America.
