SOUTH END YOUTH BASEBALL CAMP

On Saturday, July 27th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Jim Rice Field, the Boston Baseball League hosted the 1st Annual South End Youth Baseball Camp to improve youth baseball in Boston.

With few little leagues in the inner-city, the South End Baseball Program provides 1,000 kids in the South End and Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Dorchester and Chinatown a place to play ball. 100% of funding is from sponsors.

Throughout the day, close to 35 kids aged 8-12 participated in drills and a mini-scrimmage. Red Sox' pitching great Luis Tiant also was in attendance.
