MABL BEST WINS OF 2001

In Game #3 of the Baystate Conference Semi-Finals, the Rockies overcame a 4-run deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning to win 6-5 and advance to the Baystate Conference Finals. While impressive, this isn't the first time the Rockies have made this type of comeback. And many other MABL games were won this year in the final inning! The best 18 are documented here:

  • Rockies 6, Dodgers 5. In likely the most amazing turnaround of events this season, the Rockies overcame a 5-1 seventh inning deficit to win the deciding Game 3 of the Baystate Semi-Finals to head to the Baystate Finals. Bart Lawyer was the hero with the walk-off game-winning, series-winning RBI on an infield single with 2-out.

  • Braves 13, Red Sox 12 (11 innings). Mark Doucette's 2-out single in the top of the 7th inning past the outstretched dive of Jeremy LeBlanc tied the game at 12-12. Going into the bottom of the 7th and the Cardinals leading 7-5, the Indians Grant Emde and Jason DeVeau came up clutch with base hits to score Josh Hale and Mark Bowles knotting the game up at 7 each. In the 8th, Hale beat out an infield hit and Bowles plated him with the game-winning hit to left field.

  • Dogers 5, Rockies 4 (8 innings). Mario Saenz' RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the 8th capped a comeback by the Dodgers.

  • Braves 7, Royals 6 (8 innings). The Braves somehow managed to dodge the rain, dodge the Royals by coming from behind to win in 8 innings, and keep their playoff hopes alive.
