Championship Series
The Cubs defeated the Pirates in Game #5 of the MABL Championship Series by a score of 6-2. What a fantastic end to a great season. Congratulations to both teams, who were built entirely from expansion. See the complete final MABL Playoff Results.

The West beat the East by a score of 1-0. Get details.

MVP Award Winners
Dan Williams of the Red Sox and Mark Doucette of the Braves were both selected as the league's Most Valuable Players. Williams picked up the league's triple crown. Doucette led the league in wins with a 9-0 record on the mound and also hit .537 while slugging 1.130.

Cy Young Winner
Keith Umlauf of the Cubs won Cy Young - Keith went 7-1 for the Cubs with a league best 2.20 ERA. In 53 Innings pitched, Umlauf only allowed 38 hits, and he struck out 66.

National Award
The National MSBL selected the Boston Baseball League's Dan Chisholm of the MABL South Shore Astros as MSBL/MABL National Player of the Week 5/6/99. Dan's performance Opening Day entailed pitching a 4-hit complete game shutout, with 16 K's in 7 innings.


MSBL

Championship Series
The Brockton Indians won the MSBL Championship by defeating the Wayland White Sox in 5 games. Game 5 was a controversial forfeiture that is still being debated. Officially, the championship may have been deemed a tie. We may never know.
